I got the front part of the cap on, and I am just about to start working on the sides and back.


I used the same process of drilling small holes for the threaded rod, and bigger opposing holes so the socket would fit. When I cut the threaded rod, I leave about 1/2″ for the nuts on either end.

Although this material is stronger than steel, it is still made from a poly-resin fiberglass, so you have to be careful when applying torque to the nuts. I used nuts with locking washers built on. When I am done with the frame I will use an adhesive to ensure the nuts don’t come lose.
