One of the Toughest Days in a Long Time!

I’m aching…I woke up at six today, and wrote a letter of recommendation for a friend of mine.  Then got the kids off to school, ordered more business cards, then headed off with the wife to start work.  We stopped at the hardware to pick up some more OSB, and other supplies we needed, then headed out to the new house.  I need a new regulator for my air compressor, but sears was not opened yet, so that would have to wait.

We got to the house at the same time as our friend Jodie.  She was on full-caffeinated driven speed today!  We ripped up the remaining kitchen floor, and finished putting the new sub-floor down.  About 200 screws later, and a very aching back, the sub-floor is finally complete.  So we moved on to the front entry way floor.  We finished ripping the old rotted floor out, and replaced the OSB.

After, we cut the sub floor in the bath that needed to be remove and took that out.  Terri painted more today as well.  At about three, we came home to get the kids off the bus, and eat.  I then returned to the new house to work second shift with my son Trent and Scott from church.  They put all of the trash from the construction into the dumpster (which has to be returned tomorrow), and while they did that, I finished putting screws into the kitchen sub-floor, then cleaned the front room out of all the tools and wood so we could rip the carpet out.

We got the carpet and padding out, and cleaned up again, Trent and Scott had to take all the stuff to the dumpster again.

We unpacked the truck, and I got home about 7:30PM…my back is killing me, and I hurt…but we had a VERY productive day today!

I opened the stove and put it in place today, as well as got insulation for the floors before putting all the sub-flooring down.  t i r e d…

Nancy, I just put the fridge there for now so we could have food and cold pop and tea at the house while working…and the stove was moved into place just to get it out of the front room so I could pull the carpet…the stove isn’t connected, and the fridge is on wheels, so we will be moving both of them when we put the tile down :D

Oh my golly Bruce, I’m surprised that you can even move….just wait until tomorrow. I can’t believe how beautiful every is. your stove is just beautiful, your refrigerator is just beautiful, your fireplce is so beautiful. I have a question? I noticed you are putting your appliances in before your floor is laid. What if you have to pull the refrigerator out clean the coils in the back? Are you going to have to lift it so the leveling feet can clear the tile? Only a question, I just couldn’t figure it out. I’m so happy for you that Jodie is helping you out so much. When do you think you will try the new window out? Terri is really helping with the intricate painting. Oh, it is just moving along so quickly and you just have to be so proud of yourself. I will say a little prayer for you tonight that you will be able to get of bed in the morning. God Bless and love you. Nanc
