Seven Days Untill the Move…How much is left to do???

First, let me say I’m sorry to everyone for not posting any new pics over the last week.  I have been working like a borrowed mule trying to get all of the house renovations done in time for the family to move in.  We are moving in seven days eighteen hours and fifty-three minutes from the time of this post, ha ha ha…really, we are :D

So, All I have left to do for us to move in, (not actually complete the entire home renovation, but move in), is carpet the front room, hallway and master bedroom.  After that we can actually move in. But I still have a list of things that need to be done to complete the house.

The master bathroom has not been touched yet.  That needs walls painted, shower fixed, floor tiled, toilet replaced, and the hardware installed.

The master bedroom closet needs a floor, and I had to order a NEW water heater because the one I originally ordered was not vented properly.  So there was another $500 I didn’t plan on in the budget :P

The windows still need to be installed, 10 in all.

I built a closet in the utility room for the water softener with my son-in-law Kurt the other day, but we still need to install the unit, and the washer. (I did get the dryer installed yesterday.)

I need to raise the front door a few inches still.  I did not take into account the height of the tiled entry, so the door rubs a little.

Finally the small bath needs the walls finished, and the seams sealed, sink installed, hardware installed, mirror and lights, and it will be done.

Other than that, all that remains is sealing the grout on the entry and the small bath.

I sometimes cannot believe how much I have actually got done on the house in just a few weeks.

When I am completely done with the house, I can start on the outside, which will include a front deck, finishing the two sheds outside I started, and of course the 18×28 addition for the bible study room and offices.

The yard is looking pretty good, I still need to get the fence posts down and put up the fence marking the east side of the property.

Once I’m done with the house, I will make a slide show of the before, during and finished house and all the rooms.  It will be very interesting to see the process within a few seconds to really get the difference.

We are beginning the actual physical move on Friday and finishing on Saturday.  Today Terri and I are going to West Branch to get the last few sheets of wall for the small bath, a few sheets of OSB for the roof of the sheds, the carpet for the hall and front room, and some supplies for the carpet install that will be taking place this evening with the help of my friend Jeff :D

So I will try to remember to take some pictures today and post them tonight.  I’ve slacked on that over the last week because of how busy I’ve been.  I will be glad when this is over though.  It was fun for the first 4 or 5 weeks LOL
